I think this newer one, was a massive mistake, when the new bus station first opened in 2014 my late Nan who died in February 2015 missed her doctors appointment because of the delays the new bus station caused and it still causes issues. The new bus station has contributed to the downfall of the Grosvenor Centre because, it's location moved outside the Grosvenor Centre and not enough bays for the Buses. The old building people say looked ugly, I did not think it looked ugly, a building is a building to me, I admit it needed painting, some structural work and better lighting inside, but it worked with the traffic of buses. I also find the new bus station far too overcrowded compared to the old one and buses never in the right bay, missed the first one as in different bay then had to wait hour till the next, which also parked in the wrong bay.
Absolutely vile hot drinks at the little coffee shop near the information centre please dont go in there as the tea I got was not worth 2 it was water and a tea bag yuck.
Never meet such RUDE staff in my life. The staff at the information desk (national express) are highly rude and unprofessional. Visited Northampton on Wednesday 31st October and meet a blonde old lady went to ask her a question (direction to the Leicester bus top) , she looked at me and continued her conversion with colleague leaving me stranded and unsure about where to go.
Very clever design but is quite cold! Only thing that lets it down is security! Two women always sit in there but dont seem to ever get on a bus. They aren't clean and smell quite bad. If they aren't using the services, they shouldn't be able to stay there. Especially when they take up seats that actual passengers could be using whilst waiitng for a bus.
It is located in town center.Public transport all buses are available from this juncture. Paid Rest rooms are available. Closed shelter with departure boards available. Cafe shop serves amazing food. And a shop with daily needs is within premises. Help desk is quite helpful but can be in more help. Always in clean condition, cleaned very now and then. Different bays for different routes makes passenger easy to identify which bay to go. Heaters are available with small hoarding boards with all local ADs for latest upcoming events can be learnt.
