Really don't like leaving bad reviews but have to be honest - the 'Santa Train' was awful..Couldn't work out where to go at first - the 'waiting area' was like something out of a horror film (didn't want my 2 year old to touch anything to be honest). The train itself was basic - couldn't even see out the windows and the only thing vaguely festive was a bit of tinsel on the ceiling ..The worst part though was Santa himself - the outfit was filthy and he was totally inappropriate talking about hitting and shooting the elf that forgot the presents (the present itself was the best part - decent crayons and a sticker book for a 2 1/2 year old). He seemed like he'd either been drinking or just didn't know how to act or what to say around children ..It could be a lovely experience if someone spent some money but it's really just a cheap grotty and badly organised experience that shouldn't be allowed to keep going in it's current state.

Old dudes and trains..

Very good family friendly railway

The short section of railway line runs through the Hunsbury Hill Country Park where there is a very large Iron Age hill fort. The railway is only open with trains for a few Sundays a year so if you want to ride do check first. The park is good fun anyway with a well equipped play area.

Interesting displays, short train ride on certain days
