4th visit and previously had enjoyed the food, drink and service. This time Sunday lunch in January (veguanary), we are not vegan or veggie but like many others trying to cut down on meat consumption. The Sunday menu had no veggie or fish choices - just roast meat. The bar menu also had zero veggie options and only fish and chips.Disappointed we went elsewhere.
Had an absolutely splendid meal here on Friday 7th December 2018, the first course was the Leek and potato soup, for the main course I had the blade of beef, it was absolutely FIRST CLASS. To finish off I went for the traditional Christmas pudding with Brandy sauce and fresh redcurrants, that was very yummy and moreish. The welcome on entry was good, ALL the staff extremely polite, their attention to detail was very good. For the serious drinkers the selection of Beers, ales, spirits and cocktails is second to none. The Black sheep beer was very good. A fantastic evening with friends all pulled together nicely by Hopping Hare staff. A big big Well done from seven of us former Hawes Signs employees.
Small room but had everything you needed. Breakfast was well presented and very tasty. Staff very helpful. We would use it again.
Very medioca food, potatoes were under cooked, veggies slightly cold but other than that a reasonable price. Service was super slow... Kind but thoughtful waiter. Would love to increase the rating but just can't. Hoping for improvement on second visit.
It would have been lovely to have a vegetarian option on the set Sunday meal for my daughter who had the pasta but does not eat mushroom. My roast pork roast was delicious and the soup starter was tasty vege option for both of us. Service good. Thank you.
